Seeing in Colour is Community Energy Birmingham’s hands‑on thermal imaging workshop, designed to help residents understand how their homes lose heat, where damp and cold spots appear, and what simple, low‑cost actions can make a real difference. Using thermal cameras and real examples from local homes, the session makes building physics easy to understand and deeply practical.
Seeing in Colour is part of CEB’s wider mission to support neighbourhoods with practical, community‑led home energy knowledge. By making invisible problems visible, the workshop helps people feel more confident, informed and empowered to take action in their own homes.
During the workshop at Civic Square, participants will explore how heat moves through a home, learn to spot signs of draughts, moisture and poor ventilation, and discover everyday improvements that can improve comfort and reduce energy bills. The session is friendly, visual and accessible for all experience levels, no technical background needed.
This workshop is ideal for:
Local residents
Renters and homeowners
Anyone curious about improving comfort and reducing energy bills
People wanting to build practical skills before considering larger retrofit measures
No prior knowledge is needed, just curiosity.
